The syllabus and medium of instruction are based on International Receptive English; globally used and understood, in particular in the major speaking countries of Britain, USA, Australia and New Zealand.
BCS team of qualified, dedicated, friendly and experienced teachers will also thoroughly prepare students to take the International English Language proficiency test and examinations organized by LCCI, University of Cambridge, TOEFL and CELPT by Ngee An Polytechnics.
In each level, students will be expected to achieve the following skills:

Entry Criteria :
This course is suitable for those with little or no knowledge of the English language.
Students are required to take a placement test conducted by Bedok Commercial School before they are enrolled into the respective level of the English language course.

The main aim of Petra’s English course for Primary students is to help them use the language confidently, appropriately & accurately, be it for oral or written purposes. We guide children in building their creative writing skills & a writing exercise is provided each lesson. We help them to understand what they read & hear, to master ideas, & to restate them in their own way. We also teach them to write down their thoughts & to be able to formulate their own ideas. While encouraging creative imagination, we also insist on correctness of written & spoken English.
